You must have heard about Shravanabelagola, the famous pilgrimage area of Jains. The replica of this shrine has also taken shape in Indore. This picturesque extravagant pilgrimage area, located on the beautiful green hillock, Shri Digambar Jain extravagant pilgrimage area Gomatgiri was built with the holy inspiration of Acharya Shri Vidyanand Ji Maharaj. In 1986, a statue of 24 Tirthankaras and Lord Bahubali was installed on Kamalasan.
History Of Gommatagiri Jain Temple
The inspiration to build this extreme pilgrimage was given by Rashtrasant Vidyanandji. It is about 1979 that Muniraj was doing Mangal Vihar towards Shravanabelagola when he got the image of Lord Bahubali on this hill on Depalpur road. In 1981, the late Samajjan Dulichand Sethi, Shantilal Patni and Babulal Patodi took up the task of realizing it in the association of Acharyashree. The social community has given Rs 2 lakh. Collected.
In 1986, the sitting statue of 24 Tirthankaras and Lord Bahubali was installed on Kamalasana, since then this Jaina shrine is known as Gommatgiri shrine.
Architecture Of Gommatagiri Temple
Gommatagiri is a Jain shrine temple, which is situated on the hillock. There is a 21 feet high Kharagasan statue of Bahubali in the midst of the Trikala Chaubisi of 24 Tirthankaras’ Jinalaya and Navrangi Gems.
There is a 41 feet high Maan Pillar(मान स्तंभ) in the temple premises. 72 altars of Navaratnas are adorned in this altar.
Important Facts About Gommatagiri
Another attractive feature of Gomatgiri is that it consists of 24 marble temples, each dedicated to 24 Tirthankaras of Jainism.
This temple has the altar of Trikala Chaubisi i.e. the Tirthankara of all three periods.
From Gautam Ganadhar Swami to almost all the ancient and present masters, there are footprints here.
A lots of devotees are come here and understand Jain philosophy. The composition of the entire pilgrimage area tells the story of the entire Jain religion.
There is a Saraswati campus in this premises which has a collection of rare texts, which are studied by Shravaka Gana and Muniraj.

Best Time To Visit Gommatagiri
Before to visit any you have to get information about the timing of the places. Gommatagiri temple opens all days of the week at Morning 6:00 AM To 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM To 7:00 PM.
On Sunday, the famous dal-baati of the Gomatgiri temple is served in the ‘Bhojnalaya’ (restaurant)!
How to reach Gommatagiri
You can visit here via bus, train and private transport. Gommatagiri Temple’s distance from Railway Station is 15km and from Bus Station is 10 to 14km.
The best way to reach Gommatagiri is that take a bus or train from the station and reached to the Gommatagiri bus or railway station. From there you have to take magic to the Gommatagiri Jain Temple.
