Bijasan Mata temple is a famous ancient temple of Indore, which attract the tourists and devotees to visit here. This temple dedicated to the Nine Goddess(Mata).
The history of Indore Bijasan Mata Temple is almost a thousand years old, it is believed that there are nine forms (idols) of the Goddess sitting here. The temple was built by Maharaja Shivajirao Holkar of Indore in the year 1760. A lot of devotees comes here to take the blessing of the Goddess.

The temple was built by Maharaja Shivajirao Holkar of Indore in the year 1760. In the past Goddess was sitting on the platform(ओटले ). In the ancient times, there was a forest of black deer here, the forest was known for its tantra-mantra siddhi.

Bijasana Mata is considered as the mother of good fortune and son. Due to this, after marriage, people from the whole country come here for the darshan and worship of Goddess.
The temple was built in the Maratha style by the Holkar ruler. The nine forms of Goddess residing on a simple clay-stone platform. Later many development works were done.
There is also a holy pond in the temple courtyard. There are a large number of fish in this pond. Devotees who visit the temple believe that feeding grains to the fishes give them merit and the mother definitely fulfils their wishes.
The fair fills every Navratri in the temple. A panoramic view of the city is seen from above the tekri.
Shatchandi Mahayagya is being done continuously in the temple for nine days of Chaitra Navratra. To get the Yagya benefit, devotees get influx from here itself. Stone idols of Mother are enshrined in the temple.

Aarti is performed at 6 o’clock in the morning and 9 o’clock at night in this temple.
Best Time Visit Bijasan Mata Temple
This temple is open all the days of the week at Morning 5:30 AM To 10:30 PM at night. Aarti is performed at 6 o’clock in the morning and 9 o’clock at night in this temple.
During the Navratri festival, this temple is open all day long(24hrs). Mother’s dressing is at 2 to 3 o’clock at that time, the doors of the temple are closed, the devotees come to the temple to see the dressing of Goddess from 4 o’clock in the morning. Yagya and Havan are performed in the temple on the 8th day of Navratri(Durga Ashtami).

How to reach Bijasan Mata Temple
The Bijasan Mata Temple is situated in the west area of the city, the temple is at a distance of 9.8 kilometres from the railway station. It takes about 27 minutes to reach here via train.
You can also visit this temple by private vehicles. And also have a very good arrangement of parking of 2 and 4 wheelers.
