Why it is called “Chhappan Dukaan”?

You may wonder why this place is named Chhappan Dukaan, which literally means 56 shops. Originally, when the market started, there were actually 56 shops here and thus the name was “Chhappan Dukaan”.

In other words “Chhappan” means “56” and “Dukaan” means “shops” or “56 shops”. At the time of established, a total of 56 shops was started here which selling food items.

The entry of vehicles on 56 Dukaan street between MG Road and Chandani Chowk was restricted from the 14 January 2020. A mechanised parking facility with the capacity to accommodate at least 200 two-wheelers and 80 four-wheelers has already been planned in the area, and people visiting the area will have alternative space at Vivekanand School and garden space near Gadi Adda till parking facility is ready.

This market was newly developed and open in the year 2020 March. The redeveloped “Chhappan Dukaan” have amazing architects which attract more peoples and tourist also.

After redeveloped there are many facilities in the smart market of Chhappan shop by the Municipal Corporation. Colorful attractive paver block is installed here. Attractive chairs are available for people to sit. The whole place looks more beautiful, using LED lights here.

Right from 6:00 AM every day when the Indore’s ubiquitous breakfast Pohaa is served at various shops, till late evening (around 10:00 pm) !! This market is filled with a variety of items – you can have a variety of snacks, chaats, sweets, foods, hotdogs (banjo), momos and hot and cold drinks such as coffee, tea, milkshakes, juices, etc. all in one place.

Chhappan Dukaan is open all the days of the week from Morning 6 AMM To Evening 10 PM. The best time to visit this place is in the evening from 7 PM To 10 PM. At this time this place looks so beautiful and attractive. But this time you faced rush here. You must have to visit this place.
